A carbon free system: Stability Pathfinder stakeholder feedback request

We recently shared our ambition to be able to operate the system carbon free by 2025. We are now launching one of our first steps towards achieving this ambition through our stability pathfinder.

Stability is the ability of the system to withstand a network disturbance and continue operating normally. Traditionally we have had lots of large synchronous generators to help us maintain stability. As we move towards more renewable generation on the system, we need to replace some of the helpful properties of synchronous generators.

We are today publishing a Request for Information Pack for Stability Pathfinder. In this, we outline our current thinking and ask for your input to make it better. This is a great opportunity to shape the future and together we can make a Zero Carbon future possible.
