Join us on the journey to net zero

As Great Britain’s electricity system operator (ESO), we sit at the heart of the electricity system, using our outstanding engineering and commercial expertise to balance electricity supply and demand. Ultimately, we keep the electricity flowing directly to where it’s needed, second by second. The British Government has set out its ambition to produce net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and the energy industry is responding – together we are building a cleaner, greener Britain. We, as ESO, have an important role on this journey: we are constantly thinking about how to best shape the future of energy, and are working to operate a greener and cleaner electricity system.

Our future opportunities

As we look to the future, we’re going to have a lot more roles becoming available. You could be planning energy networks, implementing change, running innovation projects, or even building future energy scenarios. No matter what your goals and aspirations are, you'll be part of something new, something exciting, and something career-defining. Not all of our roles will require specific industry experience, so whatever your skillset we’d love to explore how you could be part of that journey.
