Welcome to ESO
We are the electricity system operator for Great Britain, making sure that Great Britain has the essential energy it needs by ensuring supply meets demand every second of every day.
Electricity Ten Year Statement (ETYS) 2023
We’ve released our Electricity Ten Year Statement (ETYS) 2023 publication. ETYS is our view of future transmission requirements and the capability of Great Britain’s National Electricity Transmission System (NETS) over the next ten years.
We’ve published Future Energy Scenarios 2023, which sets out credible ways we can achieve net zero by 2050, as well as the Government's target to a decarbonised electricity system by 2035.
