What is GO15?

GO15 is a voluntary initiative of the world’s 19 largest Power Grid Operators, representing together more than 70% of the world’s electricity demand and providing electricity to over 3 billion consumers. It was created in 2004 to develop joint action plans to power system security and act as a catalyst in the transition to future low carbon grids.

What is Global PST?

The Global Power System Transformation Consortium is a group of system operators, research institutions, international agencies, businesses, and non-governmental organizations working to dramatically accelerate the transition to low emission and low cost, secure, and reliable power systems.

National Grid ESO is a leading member of the group, helping to deliver the technical collaboration, peer learning and the advanced engineering solutions needed to assist global power systems transitioning to low carbon.

What is ENTSO-E?

ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators, represents 42 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) from 35 countries across Europe. National Grid was one of the founding members, supporting closer cooperation across Europe’s TSOs, delivering an efficient interconnected electricity system, and helping to achieve Europe’s shared energy and climate policy objectives.

What is the Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA)?

The Powering Past Coal Alliance is a coalition of national and sub-national governments, businesses and organisations working to advance the transition from coal power generation to clean energy.

The PPCA is at the forefront of the global effort to deliver the Paris Agreement, helping to phase out coal-fired electricity and sharing best practice on zero carbon operation of the electricity systems.

What is CORESO?

CORESO (Coordination of Electricity System Operators) facilitates cooperation between 9 electricity transmission system operators across Europe, covering the operation of the high-voltage electricity system for over 55% of the population of the European Union.

Its mission is to proactively help TSOs to ensure security of supply on a European regional basis, help the integration of large-scale renewable energy generation and further development of the European electricity market.
