Connections Portal

As part of our RIIO-2 ambition, the Connections Portal is being designed to transform the Connections Journey and account management for all Customers.

The Portal will provide a single point of contact for all ESO connections customers looking to either connect to, or, make use of the transmission system. The initial release will look at the digitisation of the application process and include the following high-level functionality:

  • Apply for connections and other agreements online

  • Monitor live applications and track progress

  • Access to signed contract documents

  • View of key milestones / milestone management

  • Communicate directly with your connections contract manager

The Connections Portal will be available to access via a URL on this page on 12 September 2022.

Please keep checking back to this page as we will be adding relevant communications and material over the coming months ahead of go-live.

Registration is now open for the Connections Portal!

You can now register to use the Connections Portal before our launch on the 12 September 2022. We highly recommend for you to do this so you are set up and ready to use the Portal on the day of launch.

The first step is to identify who the Super User will be for your company. Super User registration can be undertaken now via the downloadable form in our Key Documents on this page. NGESO will validate the Super User and provide login details on the 17 August 2022.

Once your Super User has logged into the Portal, they will be able to approve registration for 4 Standard Users. We will also be opening the Portal for registrations only on the 17 August 2022. This means that anyone will be able to register via the Portal directly on this day. If you haven't set up a Super User by this date, you will be able to apply for a Super User license directly via the Portal. If you have already set up a Super User; Standard Users will be able to register directly via the Portal and the request will be sent to the Super User to approve.

Please note that without a registered Super User set up, Standard Users will not be able register on the Portal.

Please take a look at our Key Documents on this page for details about how registration works and other useful materials such as how to approve a Standard User as a Super User.

Stakeholder Engagement

We are running stakeholder workshops to help shape the Connections Portal both in the run up to the September Minimum Viable Product (MVP) release as well for future development in later releases.

These workshops provide an early look at development and offer testing opportunities to interested parties. Organisations interested in participating in the workshops can register their interest via the button below.

There will be numerous releases of the Connections Portal over the coming months and years and the aspiration is to continually build and add functionality that covers the end to end connections process.
