Security and Quality of Supply Standards

The Security and Quality of Supply Standards set out criteria and the methodology for planning and operating the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS).

Please be aware that the SQSS Panel Meeting Wednesday 14 November 2018 has been cancelled.

Security and Quality Supply Standard (SQSS) Review Panel Elections for OFTO Representatives are being launched on 5 November 2018.  The new OFTO Representatives on the Panel will be in post from 1 January 2019 until 31 March 2020. 

The timetable below outlines the key indicative milestones in relation to the election process, and gives you the opportunity to be nominated to sit on the Panel.  Guidance on the process and how to vote in this year’s Election will be circulated by email shortly.

The Security and Quality of Supply Standards (SQSS) establish a coordinated set of criteria and methodologies that transmission licensees use in planning and operating the NETS.

We are the administrator for the SQSS, which we maintain together with other transmission licensees.

All changes are subject to industry consultation and approval by Ofgem.
